BIO:

I have been a Keys resident for 35 years. I moved here, met my wife of 33 years, and have raised my children in this community. My wife teaches math at Coral Shores High School. One of my daughters is a Coral Shores High School graduate, former Coral Shores teacher, and, currently, is a graduate student at the University of Florida. My youngest daughter is a sophomore at Coral Shores High School. I am a recently retired classroom math teacher. My classroom experience has allowed me to better understand teachers’ and students’ academic needs. I know that I can make a difference.

Additional Comments:

• Monroe County is too heavy in administrators. Do we need another administrator?
• I would be an excellent asset to the Monroe County School Board. My experience in the classroom allows me to better understand the needs of teachers and students.
• We not only need fiscal reform on where money is going, but on how money is spent. Spending money should be on effective programs not on pet projects.
• The Board’s focus should be on educating students, not just on continually testing them.
• Taxpayers should know where "every penny is every day."
